It has been two years since the publishing of gJEITA Audit sheet for chemical substances management in producth in Oct., 2011 which was aiming at the standardization for the audit of chemical substances and environment-related investigation at suppliers initiated by JEITA procurement committee.
During this period, JIS Z 7201:2012 gthe Principles and Guidelines for the management of chemical substances in producth was released in Aug., 2012, on the basis of which the audit and investigation for the environment-related chemical substances was discussed by electronics & electrical industry and other related industries, finally gGuideline for chemical substances management in product (Ver 3.0)h was issued on 20th Feb., 2013.
Regarding this revision, JEITA material committee reflected the knowledge obtained in the creation of the gJEITA Audit sheet for chemical substances management in producth. Furthermore, in order to reduce the duplicated operations and promote the efficiency, gJEITA Audit sheet for chemical substances management in producth has been combined with the annex gimplement list & check sheeth of the gGuideline for chemical substances management in product (Ver 3.0)h.
We apologize for the inconvenience that we might bring for the abolishment of the present gJEITA Audit sheeth some companies are using. The present gJEITA Audit sheeth is still available till May 2014. Thank you for your understanding.
Finally, we strongly recommend the gimplement list & check sheeth for auditing and investigating the environment-related chemical substances to all companies in the electrical and electronics industry.

Concept of the gAction Item List & Check Sheeth
This gCheck Sheeth is created by the contribution of each working group in the light of gthe Guideline for the management of chemical substances in products Ver. 2.0h, along with the publishing of JIS Z 7201:2012 gthe Principles and Guidelines for the management of chemical substances in producth.
This sheet is a summarization of the requirements related to the chemical substances management and know-how from JEITA procurement committee, which also brings the requirements of environment-related chemical substances management from JEITA procurement committee and each working group. It focuses on the standardized requirements, and can be used as an integrated check sheet to confirm the establishment and the maintenance the system regarding chemical substances management.

This gAction Item List & Check Sheeth is same as previous version that is created with reference of the know-how of the operation of each company and the experiences from each auditor. The contents are easy to understand.
1. Check point in each item is clarified clearly
2. It is possible to trace and verify later as all evidences (for instance, internal documentations, operation flow) are required to be entered.
3. The check sheet considers not only the opinions of the auditing party but also the auditee party
4. The question flags have been divided to three types. It is possible for user to revise the items freely by using gColumn set up by auditorh.

By utilizing this sheet for the audit regarding the management of environment-related chemicals at suppliers, the following benefits are expected for both auditing and auditee party.
For the auditing party, the check point and purpose of each item is clarified clearly, the audit doesnft need to rely on the skills or experiences of the individual auditors.
Moreover, each item is required to have a clear description and records, by which auditor could trace later for evaluation.
On the other hand, the requirements of environment-related chemical substances management can be understood easily by auditee, which also helps auditee to create and review the internal management system.
Furthermore, it is possible to prepare only one time for the audit if multiple parties are adopting the same check sheet, which will bring the effect of efficiency.
This check sheet is a summarized and standardized check sheet based on the JIS Principles and Guidelines, whether to adopt this sheet or not depends on the decision of each company. With the consideration of above merits, we recommend it to the companies as many as possible.
It should be noted that, due to the particularity of the products manufactured in various companies in the industry, the company may have to add their extra requirements besides the items in this check sheet with respect to the environment-related chemical substances management.
This check sheet is not intended to deny such individual requirements, but to integrate the common check items which is possible to be utilized by the majority. The respective requirements for each category shall be managed respectively.
