Concept
The Green IT logo conceptualizes our desire to maximize the contribution of green IT to the fight against global warming. The circle represents our beautiful blue planet, while the accent green leaves symbolize life force, highlighting the synergy between the two elements. The letters ‘IT’ which are carved into the circle express our wish to use IT to make a major contribution to further reducing the environmental footprint of the human race on a global scale.
Release Process
The Green IT Promotion Council will release the above logo as a step toward concrete action. IT and electronics technologies have a critical role to play in redressing global warming. The energy conservation effected by IT and electronics technologies even just to date has boosted efficiency across the entire IT-powered socio-economy, significantly reducing the environmental burden.
Looking at priority measures in the years ahead, we will push forward with the Green IT Initiative to promote further energy saving in and through IT devices as a means of transforming the various facets of production, society and lifestyle. This will entail utilizing the technological strength for which Japan is known in terms of manufacturing, protecting the environment and saving energy to help build a society which balances environmental protection and economic growth.
Reflecting this strategy, the Green IT logo embodies our desire to maximize the contribution of green IT to the fight against global warming. It depicts our beautiful blue planet accented by green leaves that represent life force as a simple and powerful illustration of the synergy between these two elements. The letters ‘IT’ which are carved into the circle express our wish to use IT to make a substantial contribution to further shrinking the environmental footprint of the human race on a global scale.
The Green IT Promotion Council will use this logo on our official website, envelopes, letterheads and pamphlets, ultimately applying it across all our activities.
