Asia Green IT Seminar -Malaysia-
METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) have implemented “Energy-Saving Survey” which utilizes Japanese Green technologies with IT solutions. This year, 4 Japanese companies conducted this survey together with local companies mainly in Malaysia in the field of Data Center, Public facility and Plant.
“Asian Green IT Seminar” will be held not only to report survey process and its results, but also to introduce energy-saving countermeasures and concrete best practices in Japan. We expect that the seminar will contribute further energy saving in Malaysia and Asian region.

- IT devices and systems, which are used in every field, hold enormous potential for Energy-Saving. In Japan, we are promoting Green IT, which calls “Energy-Saving in IT” and “Energy-Saving by IT”, as “Two wheels of one cart”, focusing on relationships with Asian countries.
In today’s world, there is increasing international concern over global warming. I will introduce a new domestic and international development of Green IT which will contribute toward worldwide Energy-Saving.

Mr.Hasrin Bin Yahya Operation & Maintenance Manager Pendinginan Megajana SDN BHD
- District cooling systems (DCSs) supply chilled water for many buildings in an area. A DCS consumes large amounts of energy, and thus reducing energy consumption is a major concern of DCS companies.
In Japan, many DCSs use a mathematical optimization technology that yields considerable energy savings. We report on a feasibility study that evaluates the merits of this technology for Malaysian DCSs.
