What are the ergonomic features of LCDs?
Advantages in Image Qualities
Clear and Crispy images
- LCDs are digital displays that are highly compatible with the digital age. Digital signals offer displays without degradation of image quality.
Low reflection, high quality images
- LCDs generally have a low diffuse reflection and, therefore, there is little deterioration in contrast and color even in bright surroundings (under intense illumination).
Attractive high density display (print quality)
- High density is relatively easy to achieve in LCDs and, therefore, near print quality display is possible. Displays with resolutions higher than 200 ppi (pixel per inch) are already in production.
Light adaptive display (reflective LCD)
- Reflective LCDs make use of the surrounding light in the same way as printed material. The brightness of the display image adjusts to the surrounding illumination, providing a natural appearance for the human eye. There are no products as yet which has the reflection properties of printed material but the future looks promising.
Advantages in Shapes
Flexible layouts
- Slim, light LCDs offer positioning flexibility. This allows the elderly with impaired vision to position the LCD in the optimum location. They can also be positioned at a fixed distance for children who are prone to sitting close to monitors.
Best for multi-display workstations
- Modern computers can be connected to 2 or more displays to expand working space. This is known as multi-display and is significantly improves working efficiency. Being slim and space-efficient, LCDs are easily adaptable to a multi-display environment and are expected to contribute to the popularity of this type of working environment.
| Note: | The above are generally mentioned and some of them may not be applied to every kind of LCDs. |
