6. Measurement Methods

6.1 Measurement circuits, measurement power supply source and measurement instruments
(1) Equipment of a 20 A/phase or less rated current
Measurements shall be performed as described in “6.1 Measurement circuits,” “6.2 Power supply source for measurement” and “6.3 Measurement equipment” in Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission.
 
(2) Measurement circuits, measurement power supply source and measurement instruments for equipment with a rated current exceeding 20 A/phase

(a) Measurement circuit
The measurement circuit to be used is described in “6.1 Measurement circuits” of Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission. However, the measurement system impedance Z S +Z M shall have the following values.

For single-phase 100 V equipment:
(DC resistance 0.19 Ω±10%) + (inductance 0.18 mH ±10%)
For single-phase 200 V equipment:
(DC resistance 0.21 Ω±10%) + (inductance 0.25 mH ±10%)
For three-phase 200 V equipment:
(DC resistance 0.06 Ω±10%) + (inductance 0.07 mH ±10%)

 
(b) Measurement power supply source
The measurement power supply source shall conform to “6.2 Power supply source for measurement” of Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission.
 
(c) Measurement instruments
The measurement instruments shall conform to “6.3 Measurement equipment” of Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission.

 
6.2 Measurement conditions
Measurements shall be performed as described in “5.1 General requirement,” “6.4.1 General measuring conditions” and “7.12 Measurement conditions for information technology equipment (ITE)” of Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission. However, measurement condition for Laser printer and similar equipment shall conform to “7.12.1 Measurement conditions for copying machine and similar equipment” of Japanese Guideline for Reduction of Harmonic Emission.

It is desirable that the input power for the equipment (except Laser printer and similar equipment) being tested be within ±10% of the rated input power of the equipment.
